Two hollow spheres are suspended, each equipped with a lipstick camera focused on the participant/occupant's face. The projection on each sphere is of brain and neural imagery mixed in with a live feed of each participant's face. Every so often, the faces of the participant's are swapped creating a mind-boggling experience for both participants as well as the audience of their friends. Furthering the experience are biologic projections on numerous scrims suspended and wrapped throughout the space of the installation.

VJ Goldie3 was comisioned by the City of Santa Monica Arts Commission for the 2008 GLOW festival.

The tank for our studio pet, Goldie3, was mapped into 8 distinct regions, each with an assigned video effect programmed in MAX/MSP/Jitter. Goldie3's swim pattern through each region triggered each effect which was in turn applied to the video projected in the environment creating a dynamic and unpredictable pattern, until late in the evening when we noticed Goldie3 had a fatal wound inflicted by the other studio pet, a cat.

Goldie was a one-night event in honor of the studio pets, Goldie 1 and Goldie2, fat goldfish.

1. An interactive installation from salvaged electric automotive side-view mirrors. Using controls from an old Mercedes, guests were able to move and reflect the projected images of Goldie2 across and around the studio.

2. A projection mapped grid of circles stood in as portholes into the many worlds of Goldie2. guest could walk in between the "portholes" and rotate them.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/26044/1139851/vjculture_goldie2_6X.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="333" width_o="500" height_o="333" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/26044/1139851/vjculture_goldie2_6X_o.jpg" align="left" />

3. An underwater pod where guests felt miniaturized as a giant Goldie2 swam around them.

<img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/26044/1139851/goldie2_1X.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="332" width_o="500" height_o="332" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/26044/1139851/goldie2_1X_o.jpg" align="left" />

4. A blender where Goldie2 swam around waiting for her fate. This installation was in response to a Danish artist's installation. In this version, the curiosity of the guests were also tested with a button with an alarming notice to "Do not Push!" with an illusion to the fish being pureed. However, when pushed, the guests would hear a blender but see projected visuals blended, Goldie2 remaining safe in her spot.

StarCulture at KingKing, Hollywood
Do Lab's month party @ King King in Hollywood featured David Starfire.

Grant created an installation of reflective tubes suspended by a Fast-fold screen frame. The illusion looks like LED tubes (Versa-Tubes) but instead it is projection mapping. Masked and perfectly aligned media designed for the tubes and much higher resolution than any LED tube.
Thanks to Alan Joesph for filming the event; The Do Lab and David Starfire. This is a StarCulture collaboration

We designed an application that integrated live twitter feeds and facebook updates within the voting system. The vote results and facebook/twitter update were simultaneously updated in live animations on an LED screen. We also designed and fabricated custom secure iPad enclosures that allowed for the applications to run fullscreen and prevented people from navigating away from the application.
